5 Web Design Frequently Asked Questions

You just decided to create or refresh your website for your business. Great! Thats usually the hardest part, deciding on when you should begin your journey to the coveted "top page" of search engines. However, you find that as you look through the amalgam of designers you start to have more questions than answers. Look no further! We have compiled some of the top questions most people ask before they select their website designer.

1. Will it be expensive?
Cost is typically one of the first things a person will want to know even before talking design aesthetics. You might hear a few quotes that vary greatly from one designer to the next. How do you know that your not getting ripped off? Thats a great question.
Firstly, make sure to set a reasonable expectation for what you expect to get out of your site. For example if you have a budget of $750 and you want $2000 worth of web design work, chances are you will not be happy with someone willing to charge you your entire budget but deliver less than you expect. Its always best to take a few minutes before calling anyone and determine what your goals are with your website.
Once you know what your looking for its easier to dive into the sea of designers and pick out the one that best suits your needs. A great designer will be able to not only give you many options, but one that can truly capture your business voice and help you achieve
your goals. We work with budgets and strategies of varying sizes.

2. I'm not good with computers, do I need to do anything on my side?
Believe it or not we have met some folks that just wont even consider the endless benefits of having a strong online presence simply because technology gives them the heebie jeebies! Fear not brave adventurer for our job is to make you feel completely safe and at ease during our initial visit with you.
If you're not super duper tech savvy just let us know before our initial visit. We wont list out tons of lines of scary code or any website jargon. Our onboarding process is simple and easy for anyone willing to give us a try! We ask simple questions to get to know your business dynamics. Once we build an idea of how your business works we can translate that into a very individualized website that best suits your needs!

3. How long does a website design take?
While times do vary from project to project, you can expect a finished design somewhere in the ball park of 3-5 weeks. Of course we do work with expedited timelines as well when the need arises. If you would like to have the absolute quickest turn around time for your project, here are a few things you can do that will help:
A. Have as much content ready to go from day one. This includes your business bio (a bio is simply a few sentences about your business and how it works that we can use to help establish a theme for your site.)
B. Be ready to answer some easy questions during the design phase of your project. Sometimes when designing a site for an industry we never worked on before we might have a few questions. We typically send you an email if we need any clarifying or adjustments or approvals for verbiage and content. The quicker you respond the quicker we move on with the design.

4. Can you guarantee "top spot on google"?
Man oh man! We get this question too many times! Let me just say right off the bat if anyone is calling you offering you a "Guaranteed Top Google Ranking" they are most likely a scammer trying to take advantage of you.
Google's search rankings are not as simple as 30 years ago when we could just have a business that started with "A" and be at the top of the alphabetized list. Google is much more competitive than that! With google algorithm looking and auditing thousands of items on your site you will have to impress the "bots" of google with very well done optimization. All of our web design packages come with a standard web optimization. If you would like the competitive edge however, we recommend a specialized SEO Package (Search Engine Ranking) to help you to study your specific industries and region where you offer services. The competition will vary largely based on where you serve your customers and what online presence you currently have. No matter what anyone tells you, it WILL TAKE TIME before you have a solid presence that will garner great respect.

5. I'm too busy to come up with content for the site.
Of course we realize that with everyone's busy schedule, creating content is one of those things you may simply not have time to do. Thats why during our initial point of contact we find out as much about your project as possible that way we can have an operational site up and running for you within weeks. Once the site is mostly ready you can then take a look and make small revisions that we can tweak before launch.
While we work on your site you are able to rest assured that you can work on your business while we do all the hard work for you! That’s it! Easy Peasy!
